NAMI Walk

“One Day More…Another Day, Another Destiny”

This walk was inspired by three special people – Joel, Alex, and John Glynn. The Benedict’s and Glynn’s grew up together in Sidney, Maine- their lives intersected for over 40 years. We’ve seen exactly how depression and suicide can impact a family; the Glynn’s are a glaring example. Each took his life because he thought it was the one solution to unimaginable pain. John and Joel were twins; Alex was Joel’s only child-he took his life at the age of 15.

In the Glynn’s memory, team Red Barn-The Glynn Family Angel’s is committed to raising $25,000 so that people suffering with depression can have One Day More.

We will host a rally/walk on May 20, 2012 at 9am in Augusta, Maine at Capitol Park. We have created a team page on NAMI Maine’s walk site so walkers who register can accept online donations, but this event is not at the same time or place as NAMI Maine’s walk.
